Safety Guidelines

At Algonquin ATV Excursions, your safety is our top priority. Our tours are designed to be fun, family-friendly, and safe for riders of all experience levels. To ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience, all guests are required to follow the guidelines below.

Driver requirements

  • All drivers must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must provide a G2 or G class or equivalent valid driver's license 
  • Drivers must feel confident operating a motorized vehicle 
  • All drivers must follow guide instructions at all times

Passenger requirments

  • Passengers must be at least 8 years of age and up 
  • All passengers must follow guide instructions at all times

Safety Gear

  • D.O.T approved helmets are provided and must be worn at all times during the tour
  • Seatbelts and helmets must be worn whenever the vehicle is in motion
  • We also provide safety glasses though not mandatory we highly recommend (will fit over glasses)
  • Closed-toe shoes are required (no sandals or flip-flops)

During the Tour

  • All guests must attend a safety briefing 15 minutes  before departure
  • Follow your guide at all times—no passing or reckless driving
  • Maintain safe speeds and distances between vehicles
  • Stay on designated trails at all times
  • Zero tolerance for alcohol or drug use before or during the tour

Wildlife & Environment

  • Respect all wildlife-observe from a safe distance and do not approach or feed animals
  • Help us protect the natural environment by staying on trails and not littering

Weather Conditions

  • Tours run in a variety of weather conditions— please dress appropriately for the outdoors
  • We ride rain or shine, it can get messy out on the trails so it's best to bring a change of clothes 
  • In the event of unsafe weather, tours may be rescheduled or cancelled for safety reasons

Acknowledgement of Risk

Off-road trail riding is an outdoor activity that involves inherent risks. All participants will be required to sign a waiver prior to their tour acknowledging these risks and agreeing to follow all safety rules and guide instructions.
